Canine Eye Registration Foundation |
C.E.R.F. |
|
C.E.R.F. is an abbreviation for Canine Eye
Registration Foundation which is an organization that began to
help eliminate the heritable eye disease of purebred dogs.
C.E.R.F. registers dogs certified free of eye diseases. In
addition, they collect data to research these problems in pure
bred dogs. Animals can and should be seen by a vet yearly for this
genetic disorder. The cost is minimal and can be performed at
many clinics including the “Ohio State University” vet program for
canines. In addition, some regular vets have the capability
of detecting eye disorders as well. Our cavaliers are checked yearly for eye disorders.
Hopefully with proper breeding practice we can eventually
eliminate eye diseases in pure bred dogs.
